Welcome to the AWS NPO Hackathon for Social Good, sponsored by Accenture. This year, we’ve teamed up with Best Friends Animal Society, SkyTruth, Urban Institute, and Vibrant to identify specific challenges facing each of the non-profits today. If you’re passionate about applying your coding skills for social good, come join us in Las Vegas to make new friends, learn new skills, and build functioning prototypes to address those challenges. At the end of the hackathon, all teams will present their demos to a panel of judges for a chance to win prizes. In past years, these winning solutions have often been put into production by the non-profits. Open to all AWS skill levels. Please bring your laptop!
How to Form a Team: We will be holding a mixer on Dec. 1, 2019, from 6PM-9PM, at Level Up in the MGM Grand. This will be your time to meet fellow hackers and form your teams over food and drinks. You don't want to miss this - you'll be able to skip the line if you show up to the hackathon with a team already formed! Confirmation of your reserved seat at the NPO Hackathon is required to gain entry.
Where to Go and Hack: The hackathon is on December 1, 2019 at the MGM Grand. Doors open at 9AM - come early and eat breakfast. The hackathon challenges are unveiled at 10AM. Meet up with your newly created teams before 10AM to maximize your hack time. Hacking ends and presentations and judging begin at 6PM.
What to Prep: Make sure you've created an AWS Account before you arrive, so you save time. Don't worry, we have you covered with credits for every team member who comes to hack! We've created a Hackathon Quick-Start Guide with tutorials, tools, SDKs, and more to help you get started. Also, be sure to visit the new AWS Developer Center.
